Buff and Coat — Another Name for Screen and Recoat
Interchangeable term for screen-and-recoat — mechanical abrasion plus fresh polyurethane.

What it is
Buff-and-coat is the same process as screen-and-recoat: a buffer with an abrasive pad lightly scuffs the existing finish so a new polyurethane coat can bond. Faster than a full sand, but still produces fine airborne dust.
